Philip Zoutendam

Philip Zoutendam is a 2020 graduate of Duke Divinity School, where he was a member of the Anglican Episcopal House of Studies. He lives in Durham with his wife, Erin Risch Zoutendam, who is completing her PhD in church history at Duke. Philip was born and raised in East Texas, learning a deep love for Scripture and personal discipleship from his parents and his Baptist Sunday School teachers. He was received into the Episcopal Church after moving to Michigan, and joins the long line of ordinands raised up by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Grand Rapids. Since moving to North Carolina in 2017, Erin and Philip have been members of Church of the Holy Family in Chapel Hill, where Philip served as a seminarian. He also completed field education at the Orange County Correctional Center in Hillsborough and St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Strasbourg, France. On June 6 he will be ordained to the transitional diaconate.
